What happens when you use a referral code?
The exchange may store a referral relationship on the new account. Depending on the program, the referring party may receive a commission from eligible activity. Some programs share value with the new user through a rebate, voucher or task-based campaign. Those mechanisms have separate conditions.
Five checks before signup
- Verify the domain. The final page should belong to the exchange. Avoid shortened or lookalike links.
- Confirm the code. Check that it remains attached after regional redirects and before submitting the form.
- Read the displayed benefit. If the exchange page does not promise a specific reward, do not assume one will appear later.
- Check regional eligibility. Location, legal entity, verification status and account type can change access and rewards.
- Save material terms. Keep the dates, qualifying tasks and reward type when a promotion affects your decision.
Referral code vs promo code
A referral code usually attributes a new account to a referrer. A promo code is more often tied to a standalone campaign or redemption flow. Exchanges sometimes use the labels interchangeably, so the registration screen matters more than the name.
Can a code be added after registration?
Do not assume so. Some exchanges may offer a correction path, but referral attribution is normally handled during account creation. Confirm the field first instead of relying on customer support later.
